Playing Music Through Bluetooth BMW E92 2007 - Help!

Hi

Just wanted to ask if its possible to play music using my Samsung Galaxy S4 on the stereo in my BMW 320d E92 Coupe 2007 using bluetooth instead of Aux cable.

I have already paired my phone with the stereo and am able to use bluetooth to make calls, however I am unsure if I can use the same bluetooth to play mp3's and if so how?

The reason I want to use bluetooth is with the S4 I get an annoying crackling/squeek sounds when playing through Aux, a problem I didn't have on my other old phone, has anyone experienced this with the Galaxy S4?

Thanks in advance!

You won't be able to Bluetooth stream!

You need a combox and idrive for that!

Sorry

Quality from my S4 is shocking through AUX.
It must be the phone because previously had an iPhone 4S and it was perfect.

I use a bluetooth receiver plugged into the AUX port. Quality isn't amazing but my S3 will happily do both phone via the car and media via the receiver. Only cost about £12 on amazon, plus it's USB powered so can stay in the centre console.

I've had the same problem with my iPhone 4S and 5S using Aux cable, have tried a few different Aux cables as well but still poor quality.

I take it it plugs into the AUX port and enables bluetooth streaming?

I bought a white audio cable from pcworld a little expensive for a 1 metre long cable but the quality is great on my S4.

It should work with android if it has Bluetooth....but I am not sure because I have an iPhone...I plug in a y cord into the aux and USB then plug the tune2air to that...my phone connects to the Bluetooth and I can play music wirelessly also because of the y-cord I can also see the artist and songs on my nav...the quality is pretty good don't really notice a difference between this and just plugging it in directly to the aux...

I've been looking into this recently. There's some kind of design problem with the AUX jack in the armrest - my phone plays music through wired headphones absolutely perfectly, but using the AUX jack in the car makes the sound noisy, grainy and very quiet.

I don't know why iPhones seem to get better sound quality - whether it's just subjective or whether they have different hardware somehow. I know the 3.5mm headphone jack out of an iPhone has compromised sound quality compared to the multipin connector at the bottom. Has anyone compared an iPhone and Android device back-to-back to see if there's actully any difference?

The adaptors that allow Bluetooth streaming aren't anywhere near perfect either. Almost all use A2DP streaming, which compresses the music a LOT, making it lower quality than FM stereo by the time it reaches the head unit.
