Active Autowerke XEDE question
Hello,
I am greatly thinking of going with the XEDE upgrade, and hopefully not sounding to much of a newb, what is the required work to get this working? Is this something that can be easily removed when the car is sold or returned back to the dealership? Hopefully just a simple plug in, or is there splicing of wires? Does anyone know if there is any visual diagrams? With the extra boost, is it needed to have an extra intercooler, or is it ok if everything else runs stock? I'm not concerned with constant monitoring or tweaking, but just a nice performance increase that I don't have to think about and can turn off easily thanks! |

Thank you for showing interest in our product. The Xede comes fully programmed and consist of basically removing and installing pins into our processor and back into the factory harness. It is fully reversible if you decide to remove it. We provide a full instruction manual as well to aid with the install. There is no splicing involved and we have units in stock. Contact me if you have any other questions. |

I gotta question for ya... Are we going to see a map to compete with Vishnu? They are doing over 400rhwp not and I know Xede is about 40rwhp shy of that if not more... If not can i bring my car to you guys to make a map?

Let us know if you get an answer on this one. I'm seriously debating now whether I should keep mine. I've just updated to new R7 version this weekend and installed a valet switch. Now switching back and forth between stock and boosted maps I don't feel that much of a difference, maybe 25WHP at most. And that almost 100WHP jump of V2 is very tempting. I need to do a real dyno though before I jump to any conclusions.

^^ I'm sure it's more than 25WHP, it just doesn't feel so... And I'm sure mine won't put down 353WPH

What other mods do you have on your car that needed a custom tune? And was the dyno you ran with 91 or 93 octane? Oh yeah, and do you think I need to wait until my car's broken in before getting it dynoed? I'm dying to see what the output is w/ Xede...... Thanks

You would figure the dowpipes and exhaust accounted for about 30rhwp of that. So without the exhaust work the numbers arent too promising... I've driven a 335 coupe with procede 1.47 6spd manual and it pulled rather nice imo. A little better than the Xede in my 6at sedan..
Reliability though, i've yet to see a cel and i beat the crap out of my car pretty often

I like the way they treat customers which is why they got my sale. BTW, i dynoed 325 rwhp and 360 rwtq last week with just xede. Thats uncorrected numbers btw.

Sadly exhaust mods will not add 30whp. I wish they did. I expected more myself. Think more along the lines of 10-15whp from DPs and exhaust. Check out a thread that Mr.5 started about custom xede DP map and 1.47. The xede put down more Hp and Tq than the procede did with DPs. But only got about 330whp and 380wtq. But the difference between the two was insignificant. Haven't gotten to see a heavily modded V2 dyno sheet though. Running 93 Octane btw.

The way i see it....!
Procede: Proceeding with screwing the brains out of your DME have it complaining to you, and since you don't care and keep Pushing it, it throws you all the Limps you can ask for.... Xede: You exceed you relationship with your 4 legged lady to a long term promising happiness and in return she is not chopping your Throttle here and there out of the blue Helix: Still an unknown tomorrow ahead, we will just have to wait and see |

Ok, here is question that I didn't really want to start a whole new thread under.
What exactly are the hardware differences between a Procede and an Xede? Not software or flash, but the hard wiring/chip/IO terminal differences between the two? |

I think AA is competing quite well with Vishnu and managing customer expectations much better (not to say that Vishnu doesn't also have a great product).
