Just bought a Sony HDR-CX7
Well, I did a lot of research on the internet about a sub-$1200.00 HD Digital Camera, and finally settled on the Sony HDR-CX7:
I was torn between this one and the Canon HV20, but what finally did me in was I don't want to mess with tapes building up over the next few years. Camera experts, what do you think?

I own a Sony HDR-HC7 and a Canon HV20. My Sony consistently drops frames on the same tape that I use on the HV20. The picture quality on the HV20 is better. The construction of the Sony is better whereas the Canon is plastic.
Overall, the Sony feels better in my hand, but the Canon is CLEARLY a better performer. |

I cancelled my order for the flash memory HDR CX7, and ordered the HDR SR7. I learned that the cameras have the same quality to record, but when the footage is stored on the HD, it stores better than to the flash memory card. Weird.
