Angel Eye Install Help Needed
Hey guys, I am in the middle of installing these angel eyes from TopGearSolutions on my E90 LCI; http://www.topgearsolutions.com/2009...ngel-eyes.html
I'm doing the passenger side and have them in but now I can't get the damn back cover on, there is not enough clearance for the tabs to go in. Has anyone else had this problem? They came with no instructions so I am relying on other manufacturer's instructions and I can't find anything about clearance. Will be posting some other observations when I'm done but for now I can't go any further. |

I have not installed those, so the only advice I can offer is to make sure the wires are not getting caught between the housing and the back cover, and make sure you fully seat the cover into place before twisting/locking.
Are you certain the bulb is correctly in place? Good luck

Thanks, I got it on. I really had to apply some pressure to get both tabs to pop in. Now on to the driver's side.

Man these AE's look awesome! I think they are brighter than my buddy's LUXs. I tried to take a picture but they are too bright to get a picture in my garage (too cold to open the door and back out). My only real complaint is that the connector that plugs into the car is very loose, so loose I was concerned they would eventually back out. I wrapped them in electrical tape so hopefully that holds them.
In retrospect after doing the driver's side where I had no choice but to remove the wheel and fender well (that or the airbox), if I had done that on the passenger side it would have given me that little bit of extra room to get the covers back on easier. May not have saved me any time as I had plenty of room to work on that side otherwise. |

I understand your frustration on shooting angel eyes when they are so bright. Many times my camera likes to adjust it and makes the angel eyes appear dimmer then they really are. You need a good point and shoot camera that likes light or you need to start playing with the adjustments on the camera to get it where you want it. The most asked for pictures are in broad day light but compared to stock is always good too! |
