Import charges
I am after some Earthquake Sws-8 speakers which are far cheaper in the USA. Does anyone know how much I will get stung for importing them? They cost approx £155 a pair plus postage? Or can someone suggest an alternative source? I have been looking on flee bay for some weeks and nothing has come up within the UK!
I have been quoted £289 by an audio shop in my vacinity. |

I always use this:
http://www.dutycalculator.com/ Remember to add £10-£20 as the courier charge their fees too.

to be fair they have to rip you off otherwise they could not afford to give £billions away in foreign aid (but someone has to pay for the dictators new Mercs!)

Have a look on one of the ebay Europe sites as you don't have to pay import duty or VAT on *anything brought in from the EU.
*this might not be 100% true as it goes on value I think but I just tried it at a value of £1000 on dutycalculator and there was nothing extra to pay |
