LED Brake Lights

Hi everyone,
Seeing as nearly all the exterior lights on my LCI 328i are LED, I'm wondering if there's any way to make the brake lights themselves also LED's to "complete the package" so to speak. I've searched in the Forum but can't really find a solid suggestion.

Is there any way to install LED brake lights on these cars without sacrificing light output while maintaining proper functionality? I'd hate to become a safety hazard on the road simply because I wanted a simple cosmetic upgrade.

I don't mind the flickering if it's only on start up, but if it happens as I'm driving along then these LED "bulbs" will be a no go and I'll just stick with incandescent bulbs for the time being.
