Wrapping Chrome trim
Hi
For some reason my car has the chrome window trip like the SE models even though its a M sport.... anyway i have ordered the black grills and now want to get the chrome wrapped in gloss black to give the car the uniform look. Can someone recommend me somewhere and give me rough cost i should be looking for. I'm in east london. Cheers

Adhesion promoter isnt needed if you always if you prep properly and hse good paint
Make sure you scuff the piece up with a bit of sandpaper or scotch brite pad, clean with soapy water and/or iso prop alcohol Then just start spraying, very light coats, first should be about 60% see through 2 layers primer then 3-5 layers paint (more if youre painting grill or if need more durability) Thats my method and ive used it on multiple E90 and E46 grilles, interior trims and various switch and button panels. Take your time and be patient otherwise it will look amateur! |

Whats the best way for the interior trim?
Same method as above? Sand paper Clean 1-2 coats Primer 3-5 coats Paint How long between should it be left between coats? Lastly, anybody have a link to a match to the BMW Piano Black? Sorry to thread jack a little... Some good info here |

Same for interior trim, progressive light sanding, then 2 layers primer, and 3-5 paint
For areas thatl be touched or rubbed against a lot shoot a couple of extra paint coats Dont be tempted by pound shop paint, iv used it and for small parts is fine but the cans shoot flecks once past half way and can ruin a paint job. If that happens then wait till completely dry then sand down again and restart that area As for time between coats about 20 mins is enough if laying multiple light coats using a decent paint Im currently trying to find an appropriate paint to shoot the textured vinyl / rubbery areas in car, might have to use a roller lol! |
