Finally - New MTech bumper installed!

I just got my new MTech bumper installed and I am loving it! Bought it from JGMods and Jay surely knows his stuff and is a great seller to work with! he probably thinks I was a pain in the butt for the gazillion questions I asked haha, but either way it was breeze dealing with him.

Here are a couple of pics!

Looking good! What all parts did you wind up needing for the conversion, aside from the bumper/fog lights/and bumper grills?

The Mtech bumper that Jay @JGMods sells comes with the fog light housing (not bulbs) and the bumper grills. So you do not have to buy those additional.

Other than that the only and only things that my body shop needed to buy were the brackets to support the PDC sensors that they took off of my old bumper and installed into the MTech and also a small additional extension lip for the under carriage engine splash guard. Apparently the one we have under the car fitted to the OEM bumper falls short for the MTech bumper. That lip should not cost you more than $20 at the dealership.

The PDC brackets should not cost more than $18 at the dealership.

The MTech doesn't come with the PDC holes pre drilled so your body shop will need to do that and then make sure that they have a snug fit. Other than that not a single additional part was needed to be bought for this conversion, which is amazing!

Everyone else has said that you need different fender liners, and brake ducts at minimum for the retrofit, did your body shop not mention anything about this?

That's what I was told as well and I went to SC BMW and one of the parts guys there sent me to the owner of the body shop that I went to saying that he knows this inside out and would help me get it done.

For sure, this guy knew his game and except the lip to extend the under shield and the PDC brackets, nothing was needed!

Damn that's awesome, they must have had to modify your ducts and a few other things though, otherwise your brakes performance are going to suffer, because they won't be adequately cooled...

That's interesting...I did check that with the guy when I picked up the car and he showed me the brake ducts that are seen next to the fog lights and he said they are all well open and ventilated. I think you can see them in the pics that I have attached.

I might just ask them again when I go in next week to get my fog bulbs fitted.
