e90 LCI 328i @300hp
Hello Family.
I had a quick question regarding possible gains. I’m looking to get 300hp at wheels on my 2011 328i if my hopes are correct would i be able to achieve this with the following mods: -BMW PE -BMW PI -3-Stage Intake Manifold -BMS Power Box -A proper Tune. Would i hit 300hp at the Wheels? or am i just way off? What do yall recommend. |

Dude you're a hilarious!!!
No seriously we love your sense of humor. 300hp at the crank on a 328= not happening 300hp at the wheels= unless your car is being fueled by the blood of Satan himself, it is NOT gonna happen. power box gains are minimal and not needed if you have the tune.. the tune plus those mods will put you at maybe 250-260hp at the crank(and that's me generously speculating). I know because I had that setup; except I had a BMW Euroinatke instead of the PI If you added headers to that setup that would net you some extra HP but still no where near 300hp range Last edited by Delta0311; 01-31-2014 at 09:33 AM.. |

Just be happy with what you have unless you want to spend stupid money for throttle mapping and better exhaust note. Your best bet may be the 3 stage manifold, but I don't know much about gains since I have it on my 330. Trust me, I've trolled evey thread in here to find some hidden thing for n52 gains. There are a couple guys with close to your numbers but they paid for it. More than a down payment and depreciation hit to buy a 335 and JB4. Be happy with what you have put some wheels on it, cosmetic stuff. That's your best bet

N54 engine swap. No, seriously. Check ebay, they aren't bad plus it would be a cool project to post about and you could sell your engine to cover part of the cost.

would also need a ZF tranny from an N54. The GM tranny is not set for that kind of torque and hp. Would probably also need the ECU from a N54 motor. The whole project would be an expensive cluster fuck. Would be way cheaper and easier to trade in.

PI list like 2 or 3hp (not 100% sure on that one) This was right from the BMWUSA site Your math is a bit off.. You MIGHT be at around 250-260hp WITH a tune, 3-stage intake manifold, PE, and PI. The BMS will do nothing when ran with a tune, in fact it should be uninstalled at that point. Last edited by Delta0311; 01-31-2014 at 10:40 AM.. |

well fak!! i guess ill stick with just a 3-stage intake mani and some cosmetic retrofits....i cant get a 335i because my insurance would go up from 110.00 on my current 328i to 250.00 on the 335i......(yes my record is not the best way too many speeding tickets and a few totals
![]() PS: would yall recomend a 3-stage Intake Manifold and a BMS Power Box? |

Lets put it this way, I have a 330i so I already have the 3stage IM, I have the PE, scoops, AA Tune, Carbon filter delete with K&N drop in and the best I could do at the wheels was about 215HP (see this for detail: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=654633). If you really want to make your car as fast as possible do this:
- 3 stg IM - Catless headers - AA Tune - Lightweight wheels - Diff swap with a higher ratio Then as others have mentioned start ripping out parts to save weight. |

as others as said, no way you're sniffing 300hp at the wheels unless you go FI, and that just isn't a cheap or reliable option for the N52. that said, i'm happy where i'm at performance wise. would love to have the N54 or even N55, but first preference is for a wagon.

Probably but the N53 was never released in the US so there is no way he can get one locally. He would have to have one shipped over from Europe and then installed; again it's not worth the cost.

Not that I would do it. I have had enough. I mean, I am sure it would not be just the head. You would then need the direct injection parts as well. And god knows what else to make it work with the ECU |
