OFT stg1, misfire, solved
Long story short:
Got cel, checked codes, misfire multiple cylinders and then many misfires on cyl 5. Triggered CEL. After this only rough running under acceleration, no cel but misfires in cyl 5 logged. Flashed stock rom (was running stg1) Misfires gone. Changed plugs & coils, flashed back stg1, no misfires. Smoother idle. This just as a reminder that your tuned N54 needs to have ignition parts in good condition. |

Plugs probably would have done it alone. 10k-15k seems to be the top of the tuned lifespan of plugs on this platform.

Possibly, but then again the coils cost me about the same as plugs did (25 eur each, ~34usd). I don't have easy garage access so decided to change both at once.
Car has done 100k km / 62k miles so if the coils weren't done they soon would have. |
