Just zaino'ed my 335i!!!
Hey guys. Just wanted to show you guys what zaino did for my car. It took me 7 hard hours, but it worked out without a problem. Never did it before, so I'm proud that nothing went wrong. One word of advice when using the pc random orbital polisher....I think that the cutting foam pads are unnecessary if you only have surface scratches/swirls. Just use a polishing pad with the zpc fusion and you will still get very desireable results!!
Here are some pics.... ![]() |

I have always applied Zaino to my vette by hand. No need for a buffer.

Great results! I plan on doing my winter detail in the next two weeks also.

You've never heard of applying Zaino by hand? I think the vast majority do it that way. Also, I think the OP used the RO for initial polishing with an abrasive polish to address scratches and swirls before (presumably) applying Z2 or Z5 by hand.

I know. 7hrs is a long time. But now that i've done it once, i'm sure I can bring it down to like 4.5 to 5 hrs. Oh, btw, I only used the orbital polisher with the zfx. I did everything else by hand. If you haven't read the article for detailing your car, here is the link to the sticky on this forum. I have to admit, claying your entire car with a two inch piece of clay is ridiculously tedious, but it was all worth it in the end. plus, piece of mind with winter protection in brutal chicago.

Looks pretty nice in the shade for sure. In the sun, you can definitely tell it's Black Metallic and it's not quite as brilliant as it should be for the amount of time you put into it. Glad I ordered JB.

That's a personal preference thing. I prefer BS to JB in the sun or shade. No offense of course, just personal. BS is an order of magnitude easier to care for, too.

I like jet black too. But i've never met anybody who has personally taken care of a jet black car the way it has to be. Jet black imo ends up looking dull or off after 2-3 years. I'm very happy with the black sapphire. BTW guys, i've had at least 10 compliments on my car over the past two day after i detailed it. Some ppl even thought i bought a new car?! Looks like i'm gonna be a detail junkie.

I agree. Those surface scratches may look nasty in direct light but they are very easy to buff off. Polishing pad and ZPC make wonders with very little effort. Maybe this is because BMW dark color paints are so soft.

I did my first zainoing job last weekend too, and it took me 9 hrs.....It was including car prep and everything, but it took a loooong time. Agree it was well worth it tho. Next time it should be easier and not take as long. Nice car btw!

car looks great! it also took me 7 hrs as well. but i think for most people, 7 hrs does not mean 7 straight hrs of nonstop detailing. in my case, i took a couple of snack breaks, 2 mini naps, chitchat with neighbors, etc..
