any one track a 330d or any D?

Evening all, quick question for you all do you track your d and if so how often? I'm tracking mine at croft this year and want some advise as to what pre trackday checks/ fluid changes I should do? Hopefully car holds up well.

I will be monitoring my temps using my snap on machine! But what's the diesels like on track are they ok? I am having it remapped and I'm also going to get a Wagner intercooler before that day as my boost temps do reach 100c when I was at the ring

Hey mate,

Not diesel specific, but...

Before track days i always:

Change brake fluid
Change oil and filter
Air filter
Check the pad/disc life, sometimes buy new 'track pads' for only track use

In the past i have always had a baffled sump, or sump baffle installed to unsure constant oil pick up as previous cars have struggled.!

Other than that, Enjoy it!

Diesel will be fine on track, lots of pull out of the turns. Obviously the area of disapoint tends to be lack of revs!

Thanks for your reply Alex, it's due for brake fluid so that will get done soon and also oil and filter will aswell. I get oil for free so will change it when I'm done. Thanks for your reply

it would be worth going for a better fluid, rather than OE stuff if your doing alot of track work, motul RBF600 or 660 (although this does require changed more often). I would also recommend getting a set of track focused pads, Ferodo DS2500's or Mintex 1155's are good value options, and should last you a few track days.

other thing would be, keep an eye on your tyre tread, you'd be surprised at how quickly road tyres can get blitzed on track, rendering you with bald tyres for the drive home!

[QUOTE=Icekube;15424231 motul RBF600 or 660 , Ferodo DS2500's QUOTE]

Totally agree with both of these!

My previous track day choices!

I Know a few people have tracked 335d's, no issues I don't think, other than the obvious reduced tyre/brake life
