ACS replica lip owners. Need your help.

Warmest greetings to all. I'm trying to finish up my ACS lip install but have run into a problem. I removed the silver bumper accent trim using the DIY provided here, but the black bars that held the silver trim in place also protrude out and prevent the lip from laying flush against the bottom of the bumper. Everything else (drilled holes in the bottom, snaps on tightly at the wheel wells) is perfect.

Interesting enough, there are grooves built into the inside of the center pillars to account for the accent trim holder, but not for the left and right areas.

To those who have this lip, how is this dealt with on your car? to make it fit? did you create grooves by drilling them out of the lip? Something obvious I'm missing?

dremmel out the black plastic bars?

certainly a possibility. would that be better than simply cutting the small wedges out of the lip? can those plastic grills be inexpensively replaced, should I remove the lip in a few years?

those grilles can be replaced

Well that makes me feel better. A link or part number with price would go along way in making me feel better about cutting those pieces off.

yes you have to take off the bumper to 'remove' the grills without damaging them. MDS helped me.

If you cut them then I guess you don't need to take off bumper

any idea what those things run? again, I don't mind cutting them if the things aren't going for some ridiculous price should I need/want to replace them.

No, you are my friend. Real OEM is just confirmation. :-D

Thank you for that. I'd rather cut them out than try to take this bumper off. Especially with the risk of damaging my washer system. hitting it with my dremel now.
