The Center Front Jack Point PICS

I did a search and no one really seems to know where the front center jack point is. I came accross these pictures, from the oil change thread, and this other thread.

Now looking at the pics, wouldn't this be the center jack point?? Can anyone confirm???

I wouldn't trust that point; neither would I trust the existing 4 plastic jack points...

Looks good to me, its part of the subframe. That being said, you need a really long flat jack to get to it.

+1

I have the LT rear one completely missing (ie, fell off or something), the RT front is crushed from the first time I used it, and the RT Rear also slightly crushed from first use. weaksauce.

It IS the center jack point - and the 4 other points are in the same
positions as on the E46. DO NOT JACK ANY OTHER PLACES.

That sucks. I had a friend make a couple of these jack point adapters out of 3" dia. stock 6061 aluminum for use with the stock plastic jack points. Got the dimensions from the forum member who was selling them back in April/May.

Thanks for the pics, that looks like a winner. I don't know if I can get my jack under there and then use the handle? maybe put it up on ramps, secure the back wheels and then use the jack to get the car up higher and place stands at the front/side jackpoints?

Is there a similar jacking point on the rear of the car? On my WRX I could jack it from the rear differential. I'm not sure if the E90 can be jacked there also?

I checked in my TIS system and it confirms the front jacking point. However, the rear differential is NOT safe for a trolley jack.

To jack properly from the side without breaking anything you need this:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42387

Or this:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...09&postcount=8

Size of the lifting head is 55mm L X 30mm W, 20mm high is more than sufficient.

The plastic shroud is there to prevent the jack from slipping so don't try to jack it without something that fits inside properly.
