no power in my 2007 335i.. why??
Hello I have a 2007 335i turbo with cobb custom tune plus meth. Ive recently been getting a service engine soon light every few days. The code says "mixture control" when I get on the gas the yellow half engine light comes on and theres a boost leak code. The car wont get out of its own way. It almost feels like the turbos aren't working. I also noticed the blow off valve is not blowing off air. Could this be the cause of my problems? I live in Pa which has been very cold lately. Can the BOV be stuck opened causing the car to have zero power? Or does this seem like something else?

check your charge pipe connections. If you have an aftermarket intercooler check those connections too. You haven't described anything yet that doesn't point to a hose coming lose. BOV stuck open isn't likely to bleed all boost. Not to be a d*ck but you haven't used the boost gauge on the Cobb to verify your not building boost?

charge pipe was totally disconnected. The clamp must have come loose. I just need to tighten that. Than hopefully all is well.

The problem was the last place I had my oil changed supposedly didn't put a new seal on the oil filter. I had an oil leak. The oil must have got on the charge pipe and clamp causing it to slip off. I only realized this the other day when I tried to tighten the clamp but it continued to slip off the rubber charge pipe extension. Being I had a few other issues to be checked out I brought the car to a local shop that's going to handle it for me. I appreciate everyones help and advice.

I had a similar issue and it turned out to be my JB4 (which was an older unit upgraded to G5 ISO) had an issue with the board and kept the wastegates open, therefore giving me 0psi of boost... Depending on how cold it was, maybe your wastegates are stuck open, therefore you will not build ANY boost. hope that helps

The oil would just need to be cleaned off and some of the big turbo high boost guys use hair spray to make the coupler a bit sticky. |

Thanks everyone. THe issue was handled. THe lose of power was due to the clamp on the charge pipe which came off. Everything is great now.
