I need new tires

So I need some advice and who better than my fellow D brethren?

So I have a set of 193M's and the tires are done ... so I need to get some new tires or new set of wheels and tires.

I love the 193M I just don't like the fact that I have to use spacers to get the aggressive stance I like (one of the spacers is stuck to the rim).

For tires I am set on Michelin PSS.

But I am not sure if:

Get new tires for your 193M's
Get a set of AG 359M 19"s with new tires
Get a set of 219M 18" with new tires

I love the look of the AG 359's but I am worried about the loss of comfort and performance with the 19's. I also am planning to hit the track so I want the tires get to be good for that as well.

If you like the 193's, why change them? If you're just looking for a change, just get them powder coated (it's what I did). Good choice on the Michelin's...

I had stock 18, had the option to go 19, but decided to stick with 18.
I'm glad I did as i've hit some potholes pretty hard and I just dont know how that 19 would have held up. Ride comfort is great. Michelin pss.

I actually had them coated in gloss black ... my only issue with them is that I have to use spacers.

I'm leaning towards the 219Ms I just need to find a used pair for the right price.

I too need new tires. I've been thinking about the Bridgestone S04 Poles. they are $300 cheaper than the Michelin and are a close second in reviews and ratings. Anyone have them and can comment?

I just ordered the Bridgestone S04. $400 cheaper than Michelin PSS. I am looking for something for my 2010 sport version that is less harsh than the RFTs. RFTs makes it feel like a bomb has gone off when I hit a serious pothole. RFTs are also getting more noisy. I'll report back once the S04s are mounted.

I decided to just get tires for my 193M's. I picked my PSSs over the weekend I decided to go 10 mm extra on the front and rear.

I am so excited, I feel like my car is going to feel soo much different after I put them on.

Now I just need the weather to get better.

Interestingly, the extra 10 mm does exist on other models, especially standard tires on M3 which have 20mm extra on the fronts, 10mm on the rears compared to the sport package 335d.

Anyone rocking 193M wheels & PSS tires with rear wheel spacers getting any rubbing issues? I'm wondering if I should wait it out till it magically disappears or just roll my fenders. Removing the wheels spacers is my last resort.

the m3 is not really a good comparison, they have completely different wheels, offsets, fenders, etc. with LCI 3 series though you can still fit much wider rubber than stock if you have the right wheel offset. There are tons of people running around on 235 front/265 rear, lots on 275 rear also. With some fender rolling, 285 rear. Not sure what the max is on the front with just the right offset, but 235 front is extremely common. 1M guys have it good, they seem to fit 275 front/296 rear

dang, those fronts are already over 3% taller than stock and the rears are almost 3% taller than stock, and youre going to go even more? I guess you have to go bigger just to survive bay area roads on 19s

I have no problem with the roads. I just need wider rear tire to deal with the torque! People complaining about the roads in CA, you should guys see east coast roads. CA roads look like race track to me.

My BBS wheels in the summer are:

Front: 18X8.5 et38
Rear: 18X9.5 et33

PSS rubber:

235/40/18 on the front and 265/35/18 on the rear.

No spacers and the rears will always rub the fender on the odd dip here and there. You can't escape it with the PSS because they are designed with a wider more squared shoulder than most tires.

It is not the tire but the aggressive offset you run on the rear with 9.5wide. If you go back to ET40 you should have no problem.

You think? I've considered spacers but can't deal with the hassle of taking them on and off for summer/winter.

spacers would only make it worse. Stock rear wheel is 8.5" et 37, your 9.5" et33 sticks out 17mm more than the stock wheel did. At least for type 195s thats true, if you had another stock wheel it might be slightly different but they are all pretty similar width/offset for sport package. Non-sport I would guess is a skinnier wheel and less offset
