The dreaded ///M badge (Removal!!)
Hi guys,
This is my first post, so bear with me if something already exists. I have just recently purchased my first BMW (58 plate, 320i, M-Sport). The previous owner has stuck an ///M sport badge on the boot lid! Prior to gathering the thoughts of owners from the forum I wanted the badge removed, now even more so! I'm wondering if anyone can give me some tips or point me in the direction of a way in which I can remove the ///M badge without damaging the paintwork. Any help/guidance would be appreciated. Cheers |

Hair dryer and fishing line.
Heat the badge up to soften the adhesive then slip the fishing line behind it and bobs your aunt fannys brother.

I would try some very thin twine strong enough not to snap. Place it under the badge and slowly slide up and down. This should remove the badge itself, you can then use an adhesive remover to get the rest off, and then polish/wax etc.

If the badge has recently been stuck on then it shouldn't be too difficult to remove the sticky residue.
I removed my 320d badge and it was an absolute mare to get it off as it came from the factory. If i didnt have a rotary polisher there was no way the residue was coming off Last edited by Jase 320d; 02-18-2014 at 02:30 PM.. |

I have no idea how long the badge has been on, all I can be sure of that it wasn't on from the factory.
I will give the hair dryer and dental floss a try first as they are to hand. Its fair to say I will be being extremely careful. Thanks everyone |

God I hate the idiots that put the m badges on the rear, there's an idiot in my car park who has a 1 series 116 basic basic basic edition, not even got alloy wheels with an m sport badge before the 116, so it's a m116 lmao. Moron!

When i removed mine last week (on from previous owner) it was so easy coming off that my 3 month old son could have got it off, then just used the smallest bit of petrol on a rag to get rid of the residue, and cleaned the car after

My car has the full BMW M Sport spec, but I still can't get away with the ///M Sport badge being on the rear. The new 135 M Sport has the ///M badge on the rear, from the factory to! That's the only arguement in my mind against keeping the badge on.
