DEF transfer pump noise
Did some searching and only saw a few mentions. I recently have been using to garage with the D and after a long drive (an hour typically for me) I hear the pump run for a minute or so after shutting down.
I am not sure if it did this all the time as when outside you need to listen for it but its there. In the garage next to a wall it's quite pronounced. Normal? I had been wondering if the pump was flaking and that contributed to my recent SES but its throwing no codes itself. - b |

This has been posted before. See below:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=906254 I posted a video of my pump noise in the above thread. Took it to the dealer, they replaced the pump (or so they said), and the noise "seemed better", but now (about 2000 miles later), it seems the same as it was before. I think it is "normal". -Ed

It's the transfer pump. It's normal, you'll notice it more in the garage and especially when it's cold out.
