Paint work- Cut and polish marks?

Hi guys,
I took my car for cut&polish and paint protection to a local carwash in Melbourne area but after I got my car back, I can notice some very visible circular marks from the buffer machine all over the car. My question is if this normal to be expected after that process? Or is more like the quality of the work wasn't good enough?

In any case, does anyone know how to fix it, how to get rid off those marks? Or if that is a permanent damage to the paint?

This is a granite grey 320i E90

Thank you for your advise.

Hi

Sorry to hear this happened to you. If they did what they were meant to do and used the correct tools you shouldn't have any swirls marks at all. I would recommend you take it back ASAP and report it to the Vendor and ask that they correct it or give your money back. Not sure of the size of the business you went to but you may wish to consider next time going to a professional detailer rather than a shop attached to a car wash.

I wish you the best and hope they fix it quickly for you.

That is what happens when you get a crappy detail job from a crappy shop, it's a pretty common occurence. It's not permanent though and it can be fixed, but I wouldn't trust the same shop to fix their mess up, so maybe it's better to try and get some compensation and take it elsewhere.

Agreed. Definitely not the results you should get from a proper paint correction/polishing, but very common for a quick "buff-n-shine" everywhere around the world. If it was a significant amount of money, I would suggest going back and requesting money back. If it's not too much, just cut your losses and leave them a bad review as chasing your money back will probably just cost you more time and money than is worth it. Do not allow them to talk you into fixing it because 99.9% of the time they will make it even worse.

As noted above, do some research on a proper/quality detailing shop and have them fix the damage.

Hope you get this resolved quickly!

I took the car back to the vendor who wasn't very happy with my complaint. He finally agreed to wash and hand polish the entire car and by doing that the swirl marks were gone!

Some of these guys just don't care enough about customers and to do a quality job. But there are some customer like me who are very picky and care so much about the car to just let this issue go.

Thanks for the advises !

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat , swirls were gone with hand polish?? no way, i believe he used some polish with fillers to fill those swirls, Swirls will come back after few washes. I think you need to be educated about Detailing.

I too am a bit skeptical of #1. The swirl marks being gone by a quick hand polish and #2. The people who instilled those same defects were able to fix them. As long as you're happy with the job is what counts, but I would keep checking after a few weeks, maybe even a couple months, to see if the buffer marks come back. If they do, that means SHEEDI is 100% correct in that they used a heavy filler polish to mask the defects, but once it washes off the paint, everything shows up again.

Let us know how it goes.
