Good timing!!!!! I just did an oil service on my N55 E92 335i.
I called one BMW dealer in Sydney & got told that they no longer use Castrol but instead he offered me Mobil 1. I then called another dealer to buy the Castrol but it was out of stock. This prompted me to call the Castrol Technical department & ask what type of oil I should be using.
The answer, Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-30 A3/B4.
BMW approved & currently on special at Supercheap.

if you look on the back of the container it should say BMW LL-01 Approved which makes it suitable for your model and most NA BMW's in Australia.

I use Castrol Edge Titanium 0W-40 for my N54 all the time. It's all good. Just wait for a sale at Repco/Supercheap/Autobarn and stock up. I bought 3x5L bottles from repco for around $60 a bottle. Should have bought more because I'm now running out...

Do you service yourself? or you take it to a shop and just give them the oil etc?

i used to use that exact one, now im on pentire 5-40, the guy at autobanh has a 330i and uses it for his with no problems, ive also noticed it burns a lot less oil which is convenient as I don't have to top up every second
in saying that i just got my car serviced today by Bavarian, so ill ask them what oil they used
