Help on wheel size

Hi all,

I'm looking to replace the OEM wheels on my car and came across a dilemma. The wheels I have on are 17x8 and the one Im looking at are 17x7.5.

Is it bad if I go with the 7.5 inches? The car is an XI.

If your tire size is 225/45R17, that size will fit on 17X7.5" wheels as well as 17X8" wheels.

Sweet, thank you. Is there any downside going with 7.5?

I don't really see any major downsides at all, especially if you're going with the same tire sizing. Most people usually go up in diameter and width, but a 7.5" wide wheel can still work just fine.

I see, yea I was hoping it was going to be good with the same tire size.

But I have one more concern. The OEM wheel has 34mm offset and the new one would have 32mm. When I put it into that calculator up that thats what I got:
8mm MORE clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT 4mm

Is it going to be a problem?
