Wow that's the million dollar question and with German cars it always becomes a Bilstein vs Koni argument. Based on my experience (non of which is on a BMW platform) I'd go Bilstein. More reliable/last longer no messing around with adjusting which is a curse as much as it is a benefit to all but those skilled at car set up.
