How BAD are RunFlat's traction capabilities really?????

Car had practically new runflats on it when I got it back in early December. Since I upped the power a month and a half a go I have almost burned through rear set. Any attempt at acceleration (on ramps, exiting parking lots) from a low speed just spins the tires. Alot of times I have to turn DTC off just so it doesn't cut the throttle and place me in danger of other cars.

Is this a product of the RFT's or am I just heavy footed? Does traction improve substationally with performance tires? Either way, I'm going with something better when these are dead...

Its the RFT tires. The sides walls are a lot stiffer so traction (especially towards the end of the tire life) is very poor. Set your BMW up with a set of Michelin PSS tires non RFT and you will see a night and day difference.

PM me if you would like a quote

Thank you. I'm looking forward to new shoes. If i take it easy on them I should be able to make them last a a few more months. Easy to do except on Friday after work and then Saturday and then Sunday.

I'm in Texas so I don't need an all season tire. However, I do want something that excels in wet as well as dry conditions that will last me at lesat 30,000 miles. Michellins get excellent reviews in all areas except tread life. What would be some other recommendations of yours?

Michelin Tires have pretty good tread wear rating. Other choices would be Conintental DW, Falken FK453, Hankook V12, Yokohama S.Drives and Bridgestone Potenzas.
