Seems that some people say (along with the manufacturer) that this thing has no drone at all.

Haha... I've wanted a full Meisterschaft for the longest time now, but I just can't justify spending $2400+ on an exhaust. If i'm not happy with the CP-E then i'll put it up for sale and just bite the bullet and order an Eisenmann, but hopefully i'll be happy with the new exhaust when it gets here.
So how is your E90 coming along Sal? My E92 project is moving at a slow ass pace.

You won't regret it!
All,
If you're wondering if CP-E is a good bet...you bet'ya it is!! I just got it installed yesterday on my sedan and all them videos and sound bits on Youtube doesn't do it justice. After hearing it on youtube, I was still kinda sorta ify about getting it...especially now that the '08 335i sedan sounds a little bit beefier than the '07 models. I had a previous '07 335i, so I know. After installing it, this car is far more enjoyable to drive. The acceleration is unbelievable...almost too good to be true. Finally, the car's sound reflects the amount of horsepower it has under the hood. I don't even turn on the radio. The sound is however, a little bit louder than the videos present. CP-E told me to break it in for two weeks and the sound should subside a bit. Nevertheless, I love it!! It's the best investment I made. You won't regret it guys, plus you can't beat the price tag. Got it for $1200 with the introductory offer and it took about 70 min to install. This exhaust will fit both the coupe and the sedan b/c the adjustments allow you to push in or pull out the mufflers in the rear since the coupe is in fact 4in longer. The exhausts looks like CP-E invested tons of research in designing the product. Personally, I think it sounds way better than the Supersprint or Vishnu exhaust. This exhaust catches a lot of attention from other BMW drivers. They catch up to me just to listen to the exhaust. Stop contemplating...just get it! Driving to work just got exciting...not to mention, I don't mind the bumper-to-bumper traffic anymore. Chris

thanx for the update, but still since Swoop has admitted to having some drone in D, how much drone he is living is is subjective. For me, i dont need any drone at all.
As far as CP-E telling you that the exhaust will quiet down, well i hope its true (although i don't see how its possible) because every exhaust system i've had so far in the past only got louder (which makes more sense) Where in NJ are you? Maybe i can listen to it.

Bimmbo, day1yun made a good point. I've been tuning for the past 18 years and I also doubt the exhaust will get quieter from experience...but I'm still hoping b/c that's what I been told. In terms of droning it, it'll also depend if you have an automatic or 6-spd b/c you can control the rpm you like to be at. For example, previously I had a Acura CL Type S w/ N-1 type racing exhausts. Along with the V-tech engine, the car was way too loud for me to drive my mother or any visitors around. It was rather embarrassing and it made me look 10 yrs more immature than my age. The Acura droned at 3000rpm range and guess what...on the highway going 75-80mph would be at the 2800-3000 range and it sucked b/c I drive back and forth from VA to NJ all the time to visit family. The CL-S was an automatic. HOWEVER, with the 335i it has MINIMAL droning at around 1800rpm. Once you pass 2000rpm, then {{{no more droning}}}. With manual, it stays at 2800rpm going 75-80mph. Nothing to worry about. Plus I'm in my mid 30's, married, have a kid, and listen to classical music and opera at times. No complains so far. My parents are visiting for Thanksgiving and that'll be the true test. Dude, it's only loud in full throttle and that's how you want it...quite in cruising and loud when you want to be heard (as you pulling away from the guy who's trying to race you). Now it sounds like a true sports car and that's what you want, right? So in terms of droning, there is some but not much compared to other brands...promise! I will be in NJ after the Thanksgiving holidays...and am in the Bergen county area. Chris.

^ That is good news for me. I am almost never at 1800rpm. I guess after driving a 4cyl s2k for so many years I got use to keeping the revs up. The lowest I ever cruise at is about 2300 or so. I can't wait to get this exhaust on, i'm going crazy.

I cant wait. i was going to get Eisenmann, but this is starting to grow on me..especially for the price they are giving it away at...full exhaust while eisenmann race is just 1200 for the rear alone.

I had both model 335's
I had a '07 335i (lemon) that the dealer took back. I was given the '08 335i in return and I noticed that the '08 model sounded better, a tad bid louder, kinda line in the coupe. The coupe sounds beefier than the sedan. However, when I installed the CP-E exhausts, the CP-E folks verified that there's no change. But the sound is different. I drove the '07 model for 13 months and first thing I did notice was the exhaust note on the '08 sedan sounded better.

New Discovery!!
I had the CP-E exhaust on my car for 4 days now. There was no change until now. I installed the K&N drop in filter and that definitely changed the volume. Even my wife told me that the sound changed after I dropped in the new filter. I'm going to experiment in a few minutes. I'm going to drive around the block with the K&N and then with out it. It's going to suck if I have to leave out the filter just to decrease the volume. It took me a while to find a place that sold the K&N filter. Maybe I have to just get different mufflers and keep the free-flowing pipings. Never knew that a drop in filter could do something to the volume. It's not like it's a CAI.
Chris.
