Joining the catch can crew!
Well after an entire day of learning and breaking things I finally got the can in.
I'd like to thank Mark M , Doc, J and few for taking those initial steps. Its not perty but it works, fully reversible when I purchase the part i broke Lol its the 4' flex pipe. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...91&hg=13&fg=20 Item# 5 for future reference lol |

Great work. Looks good. How is the can mounted in that location? Appears that might save about 3 total feet of hose run from where I have mine back on the strut bar. Less hose run is a good thing.
Thanks for sharing. |

Removing the switch/breaker takes two black nuts leaving behind two welded or attached whats that word i guess screw point? I sat the can on the botton point, and leaned it against the top point. the hoses hold it in place. Last edited by Nushibo; 03-04-2014 at 10:06 PM.. |

Hi thanks for posting.
I'm looking to fit one to my euro 335d. I'm just a little lost. Is it just a case of fitting those rubber pipes to what looks like a T peice? What is item number 5 for? Just wanting a brief idea how to install it and where to put the pipes. I have only had my 335D 3 month and just familiarising myself with it, I have looked under the engine cover. I've fitted them on petrol cars, but also have a vent to atmosphere filter or dump to ground as you dont want a pressure build up IYKWIM - does the same apply for a diesel? Thanks Last edited by Ajs_435d; 03-05-2014 at 04:00 PM.. |

I'd like to encourage you to keep an eye on this area in the pic. Looking at my setup it seems that how you have that routed could place you in danger of condensation pooling/collecting and/or freezing and obstructing ventillation. I've been using clear tubing with my setup at first to get a feel for what's going on in the system and how much moisture is present. It's more than you might expect if you use black hose and never look...

The ones I used were Help Item 47043. Google it. They are at just about all auto stores.

Ill post a video on how to get to removing air intake, and at the other junk but beyond that its a bit tricky. I should be able to do it quicker since I have more tools haha. Thank you Harbor Freight sale. But yes ill try to do one for you.
