Modding Plan - Questions

Hey everyone, I've finally decided to pull the trigger and start modding my '07 335i which I've owned since mid-2010. Some details: 61k miles, been through 2 HPFPs (the newest one seems to be holding up), had my turbos replaced under warranty at 37k, and the spark plugs were done at 52k.

Already bought:

COBB V2
aFe Stage 2 CAI

Planning to buy:

VSRF 3" DPs
VSRF 7" FMIC
(CP + DV/BOV??)

Before I start getting things installed, I plan on getting my intake valves walnut blasted, as I'm pretty sure this hasn't been done before and I'm already over 60k miles. Lastly, after everything is installed, I'm going to take my car to PTF in Rockville for a pro-tune to get everything running smoothly.

My questions are:
1. Is an upgraded CP + DV/BOV going to be necessary for me? I've done some research and it seems like people are divided on whether it's necessary or not.
2. Who would be the best to contact for parts installation.. I plan to do the DCI myself, but I need someone for the FMIC/DPs (maybe a bulk discount? )
3. Will I still pass emissions inspection in VA with catless DPs? Is there something I need to do ensure this?

This is my DD and I'm trying to address all potential problems before I start the process as to not have any unnecessary headaches. I realize that there may be issues that surface once I start modding, but I want to minimize the possibility of misfires/boost leaks/CELs as much as possible beforehand. So if there's anything or any mods that I'm missing and should do, please speak up!

Thanks in advance.

Before installing the DPs, do emission test and then you should be good for 2 years.

Drive ~3 hours to southern Virginia to get an inspection. There is no emission test requirement here.

This will not work. If your vehicle is registered in a county that requires emissions, you have to get emissions in order to renew your registration.

You'll have to get the dp fix (02 simulator) to pass emissions with catless dps.

Clem can help you out with install. PM him.

Regarding your mod choices, I have heard of bad experiences with install on the VRSF parts. Just fyi.

Also, charge pipe will only be necessary if you plan on running more than 16 lbs of boost, or if you plan on running meth. When I went to 16 lbs, I had to upgrade to aftermarket DVs, as the stock wouldn't hold the boost anymore. My CP is only now not holding boost (after 65k miles tuned, 15k miles at 16 psi.).

I run a fairly conservative tune, though, so maybe others can chime in on their experiences.

I believe they addressed all fitment issues.

The newer vrsf downpipes (version 2) fit great. I ordered a set for a friend and they were very nice. They fit perfectly for him.

+1 on PM'ing Clem and having him install. I have never needed a new CP, but I went with Forge diverter valves after going full bolt on.

I always forget NOVA has emissions. Down here, we've never heard of such craziness.

DP fix. The people who do the inspection are largely careless and incompetent, that helps as well.
