Downpipe or intercooler

Just picked up a jb4 and charge pipe...no other performance mods. I've been hestitant to pull the trigger on a catless dp ... I hear it's a great upgrade but I also hear complaints related to smell/ idle issues. Would upgraded fmic be a suitable upgrade for ow while I wait for a catted dp

I would take the FMIC... No downsides like the dp...

Ideally, both but if you have to choose one:

If you race and need consistent power over a long period, intercooler.
If you just want max power on the street for short blasts, down pipe.

Always always ALWAYS go with the cooling first and foremost- intercooler hands down, especially if you have a tune- you need an upgraded intercooler.

Have had an FMIC for 2 years, just added catted DP yesterday. Totally agree on FMIC first. FMIC adds major power if you use Cobb and only helps the engine. No issues and no concern about dealer and warranty.

DP has increased throttle responsiveness hugely (zero lag) and has more power. But even catted has some smell. And I am still figuring out how to get rid of the SES light...

Are you running a tune? If so, you tuner should be able to code it out / mask it.
