328xi & 330xi transfer case compatible?

I have an 06 330xi 6spd with almost 130k Out of Warranty

I have had the car parked for a months for numerous reasons, I changed the transfer case actuator and resistor but the 3 lights ( dsc , abs & brake ) still stay on even clearing them.

The computer reads 54C8 Clarrification Resistor Error. I think it might come down to the transfer case itself.

I have a friend who works at a junk yard. He said they have a transfer case out of a 07 328xi with 50k miles for $350

I can't find any 330 in the area

Does anyone know if all the transfer cases are all the same? Looking to just replace this and then in the future I'll just rebuild my original. Seems like these transfer cases go with high mileage.

It should work out.

if you go to Realoem.com you can see what partnumber you have.

the 328 has p/n 27107599693
When searching for that p/n in realoem it shows it compatible to 325xi, 328xi, 330xi, 335xi.

If it doesn't work for you, tell him to set it aside for me. I may need it some day

Dont see why it wouldnt work. I used a front drive shaft out of an automatic 2011 328i on my 06 325xi. When calling salvage yards they dont ask. I would think if there was a difference it would be due to transmission 6speed/automatic not engine since thats where it bolts to.

the 3 lights you have isn't necessarily the transfer case. In fact, most likely its not the transfer case. If you search on the forum you will see that there are a number of issues that can cause those three lights from coming up. I have been trying to find the issue myself in my own car and haven't been successful. The lights come on occassionally and its hit or miss for me. But i would say before you change out the transfer case, maybe check the following:

1) Battery could need to be replaced
2) Steering wheel angle sensor may need to be cleaned
3) ABS/wheel speed sensors may need to be cleaned
4) ABS Hydro (DXC) pump may need to be replaced

I don't have the 3 error lights and my check engine light isn't on. While driving it feels as though my car is about to fall apart it. While driving it feels as though I have a flat tire but the violent feeling comes from right under the arm board. Even when i decelerate I still feel it until I come to a complete stop. My battery is kind of weak i think but would that make my car feel as though the driveshaft and transfer case is going to fall off at anytime ?
