330i PE help!

Hello all,

I am currently driving a E93 330i euro-spec so 272 ps. I installed PE like 8 months ago. I like the sound it makes and all, but for some reason it does not sound as loud and as aggresive as most of videos that I found on our forum and youtube. So I am wondering what can I do to improve the sound, especially the volume, because it seems a bit too quiet for me right now. I read somewhere that E92/E93 come with a straight mid-pipe, but I also read only US model has the straight mid pipe, is that true? so should I get a straight mid-pipe for the car to make it a bit louder?

Also I really like the quad-outlet style that some car has, so I am wondering if I can go to a exhaust shop to ask them to modify the PE, so that I can have two extra outlet on the other side as well? is that possible at all? also would that affect the performance of the car due to lack of back pressure or whatever?

Thanks a lot in advance for all your help

I am not sure. Maybe look online or under your car, but i wouldnt think that they would sell two different exhausts.. i could be wrong tho

Look at the golf tee mod and the vacuum plug on your 330i. Unplug it

I didn't read the whole thing, but check if it deleted your resonator? Idk

Your PE sounds quieter compared to US cars because you have the European Part Installed?

OP

Performance parts are engineered for different markets including (especially) suspension parts!

If you dont want to believe me google a guy named Mike Miller. I think he knows what he is talking about.

In any case ask your dealer about the US part number or go check out Active Auto Werk N52 signature exhaust.

Thanks a lot for your info man. Just wondering whats so special about that midsection pipe, is it just a straight pipe? or it there anything special to it? can I just go to a local exhaust shop to get a straight mid pipe to get the same effect? also do u have any idea about the quad-outlet? can I just mod based on the original PE?
Thanks man!

Theres a thread floating around here for dual outlets, But...Delete the resonator. That will help immensely. Sounds like your problem. Actually that is your problem. Have a straight pipe from the cats to delete the res.

so I should keep the cat on right, but just delete the resonator? but has anyone moded a PE for a Quad outlet in the forum? cuz I have seen people either buy a quad straight away or they custom make a quad, but I haven't seen anybody mod a PE though.

I wouldnt open up the can of worms trying to modify the exhaust.
Just delete the resonator. Deleting the cats may be illegal in your area.

I see, what could be the potential danger if I try to mod the current PE? Cuz I actually want the look of the quads but I don't really want to invest in for the entire new set of system since I haven't had this for long, any advice?

Ummm I read a bit about it, most people are saying that getting rid of 2nd cat will lose the torque but didn't really say much about resonator though?

was it maybe mapleridges old thread when he got a custom exhaust and lost a bunch of power? either way, doesnt make sense to me. Maybe if the bends were poorly made i would believe it. or maybe if BMWs cats are super high tech and act like diffusers for the air flow.. otherwise i think there's dyno evidence as well as a rationale why it would give more power
