Ride Height: Honest Question
First let me say that I love the lowered look. Not slammed, but lowered from stock height. My question is how do you drive around with it being that low?
Maybe it's just the roads in/around Milwaukee, but I feel like putting on coilovers and trying to drive around would be such a hassle. Not to mention any sort of driveway or ramp since I already scrap my front bumper at stock height. So how do you guys deal with it? Thanks for the responses! |

In my old Low Rider Silverado, I just drove around carefully. And angles are your best friend. Don't hit things straight on and you can normally save yourself some damage. It's part of the lifestyle though.

Always be aware....too many low-to-high ramps around here

I scrap with H&R sport at times. I don't clear some bumps with my side skirts. With my e36 m3 its a different story I just wait for something to break. I broke many lips scraped my stock one and all sorts of crap.
Lower it a little bit not too much or else its gonna cost you more in the long run. People who have an E92 it can break both fenders...made out of plastics. Some threads on here about that which I think is pretty gay. |

Thanks for the input guys! I'm leaning towards the B12 kit which I heard only lowers it maybe 1/2 inch so I think I'll be safe. The roads are honestly so bad around here from the extremely cold winter that they've shut down some areas until it warms up and they can fix it.

I absolutely loved being slammed on my old 335i. Then a truck on the highway decided to blow up its transmissions and no way for me to avoid it and it went bouncing all around underneath my car.
![]() I tend to go with coilovers because you have the ability to adjust. sometimes cars sit differently and then when you factor in wheels its a whole different game. |

My E90 had ZSP springs and now on Eibach Pro-Kit. But there's not much of a difference. Low enough for me out in the Midwest because I don't scrape

![]() Anyways OP, the key is to learn how to drive a lowered car. As someone mentioned, angles are the key. Another big factor is learning your route and the roads you take. I try to avoid driving my car anywhere I haven't been before; avoiding possible problems. |

Thanks again guys! I have definitely learned to angle as much as possible and avoid roads I know are bad. I'm hoping to get this setup put on in a few months.
Do you think at 30k miles I would need anything else replaced or the stock bushings/mounts should still be fine for a while? |

I'm slammed, but honestly, it's all in how you drive. Jersey roads blow, but I just do my best to avoid roads that I know are bad and keep an eye out for anything that looks remotely like a dip or a pothole. Just gotta be aware of what's going on.
Just my two cents. |
