DVD drive replacement for e90?

Does anyone have experience with any aftermarket dvd drive that they can reccomend? My navigation system wont read my dvd anymore and from what I've read it could be a bad dvd drive. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg so I wont take it to a dealership, hoping I can get some advise on what part to buy. I've seen a how to on how to replace it and it seems straight forward.

A little back ground info, I put the disk in and it just acts as if there is no DVD in the drive. About a year back is started to have problems but I would just remove the disk and put it back in. Little by little it got worse and now it hasn't worked at all in about 6 months.

I don't have nav so I can't help you with the technical questions of how to fix it, but I do have a suggestion. You might try to find a used one on ebay to save some cash. Also, I believe there are services you can buy on ebay where you can remove your unit, ship it to them & they will repair it and mail it back to you. That might save some money too.

I bought a replacement drive from bavauto.com for about $120 +/- and replaced it myself. That was over a year ago and it is still working flawlessly.
Before buying the drive, I would suggest trying a disc, that is known to work, to make sure that the drive is the problem.
