HID kits E9x

I've searched and read alot of threads on this forum about HID converstions on the BMW E9x models. Mainly the fog lights.

Just last week I, unsuccesfully, tried to convert my H7 highbeam to HID.
I ofcourse get the warning light on the dash saying broken high beam bulb. After that the HID bulbs stop working about 30 seconds later. I have an ongoing discussion with my HID-kit dealer about the issues, and he says that there is not one single HID kit on the market today that is 100% compatible with the E9x models.

What are your experiences on the matter? Have you stumbled upon a HID kit that works with the E9x models? Why is it so hard to fool the stupid electronics in the E9x? Will there ever be a kit on the market that is 100% fool proof?

Any inputs are welcome
