Will these Tyre sizes work for 18" MV3

Hi guys, i have come across a set of pirelli p zeros with 5mm tread all round in the following sizes:

Tyres 225/45/18 and 255/40/18

Obviously they are right width but wall sizes are one up

Will they work or will they cause issues? Only thing i can think is the rims will look a bit smaller?

Any help appreciated

Why not save the money by getting 17" wheels and 225/45 tyres in the first place if you want higher tyres for better ride?

I already have 18's on the car, its to get rid of the dreaded run flats which are on at the moment.

In that case I would go for the recomended 225/40 for 18x8 wheels and 255/35 for 18x8.5.
