Question Unable to code after DATEN update

I am unable to code my car after updating the Daten files to code a newer 2009 E90.
The hex file that usually shows up after READING the ECU does not appear anymore. And when I modify the TRC file and write it, I get errors: COAPI-1043

Help please!

What is the full error you get? If it was working fine before I guess something went wrong when you updated your files.

Use the BMW Coding Tool to update your files or do a complete reinstall.

IMO, you should always use coding tool to update your DATEN files. Reason being, there maybe more than location that requires files to be updated. The Coding Tool does this for you, instead of relying on you copying the right files to the right location(s).

Are you copy and pasting using total commander? I made the mistake of just overwriting the files and it created unnecessary issues that were fixed when I did it with total commander.

THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT MANUALLY

Target ---------------------------Source .(SP-Daten-Exx directory )

\NCSEXPER\SGDAT\ -------- .ipo files
\NCSEXPER\DATEN\ -------- coding data (daten) for models
\EDIABAS\Ecu\ -------------- .prg files......
