AE LED bulb install issue on e92 (pre lci)

So I purchased a set of 40w 6000k white angel LED bulbs from ebay for $50. Got everything installed but when I go to turn the bulbs the opposite way I took the originals out they don't seem to "click" in or fit very tightly in the housing. I can't pull them straight out but they have a little wiggle in them if I touch them. Anyone know if there is a trick to get them snug tight? By the way the bulbs look great for the price and no error codes!

Remove the metal shield with screen from the removable black plastic insert. New bulb also needs to be installed with proper 180 degree orientation

I have a pre LCI 2007 e92. I didn't know there would be a difference in replacement bulbs so I was confused there for a minute. I still can't figure out how to get these bulbs snug though. I might just throw some electrical tape on the back of the bulb to the chrome housing the bulb goes into. That's pretty ghetto so I wanted to get some input from anyone else out there that has installed these suckers.

I just threw some electrical tape on it and called it a day.

Electrical tape will probably melt off over time. Normally the bulbs are designed to be a snug fit, but aftermarket bulbs will not generally snap into place

I was thinking that too but I'll keep an eye on it. Thank you for clarifying that I'm not crazy and that aftermarket AE bulbs don't generally fit the same as oem. That at least makes me feel a little better.

Could simply be that the gasket they use is not proper - try taking the gaskets off your original AE bulbs & use them on the new aftermarket bulbs...

Possible to post a photo so we can assist? Have found that the 'legs' on the AE upgrade bulbs are simply thicker and thus require a little pressure on the gasket and then twist/turn. It will only bottom out while turning when it reaches the end. There is no 'click'.
