sstt installed.. question though?
Just installed the sstt last night and took the first drive this morning to work. The odd thing is I am not feeling an increase in power, its subtle at most.
I test drove a locals procede 1.47 a few weeks ago and man that thing is day and night, especially between 2nd-3rd. There are many reasons I went with the sstt over the procede but now I am having second thoughts lol.. I guess I got spoiled with the procede. Anyways, I have heard others state similar experiences initially and did notice a big change after a few drives. If anyone has some insight, much appreciated! |

the power of the SSTT is very smooth, just like the cars normal characteristics. even tho i think it takes about 3 or so days to really show the gains or the more and more u drive it, its def. there. i race a stock 335i just a week ago, my friends, and by 100mph was about 4 cars ahead. it def make a difference.
part throttle u might not feel it or around town, but start to open her up and u will feel the difference. take off traction and ull feel the difference aswell!! good luck and enjoy it. |

Hmmm.....Since it takes 27 seconds to install/uninstall...do the following....! ummmmm...Find a rather long safe, un-monitored stretch of a road...( I used a closed airport runway, perks of being a pilot ) Run few Runs in stock form. Make 3-5 runs to ensure they were correct... (I Picked a Taxiway on the runway) In stock form i was reaching my point/taxiway in 4th gear @ 115mph....! Waited 1 Hr w' the hood open in order to cool the car down and installed the SSTT...! At the same point/taxiway mark the car was once again @ 4th gear, however the speedometer and GPS showed 133 mph...! "Seat of the pants dyno? Well, having installed the unit within only 1 hr apart and not waited for the next day (as in your case) I could Definitely feel the rush, much smoother broader pwr delivery...excellent, just how i wanted." 18 mph quicker 27 second install on the clock $600.00 = PRICELESSSSSS.....! Have "safe" fun... Cheers. |

I kinda felt the same when I installed my SSTT...however, the power does really kick in. Funny thing is, I actually felt the difference when I tool my SSTT out for servicing...*noticeably* less power when you take it out.

Thanks for all the input/replies all! Just got home after tooling around on the freeway and I am noticing an improvement from this morning. I think the biggest difference is the power delivery is so smooth compared to the procede I drove. On the procede I noticed right away the power kicking in or more likely the torque especially in the lower gears.
I plan on doing some serious driving this holiday week so hopefully it just gets better lol. I was a bit perplexed after my initial drive this morning and was also wondering if i had a defective unit. Guess it just takes some time to adjust. I have to say the ease of install with this unit is simply amazing! |

It does take a while for the car to adapt. However in a couple of days you WILL notice a difference. I still chuckle every time I hit the gas.
Then, just for fun, throw in some 100 octane unleaded and go for a run.

Exactly what everybody else stated. In low speeds, it drives normal. Hit the gas pedal and you'll definitely feel the difference. You may want to make sure you installed it correctly....making sure you installed it after the car has been sitting a while.

Throwing in 100 octane unleaded isnt going to make a difference that you will feel by seat of the pants over 93 octane. Just a waste of money unless your running much higher boost than the TT makes.
