12v Supply in Boot
I've just bought a 2010 E92 330D and I want to mount a tracker unit underneath the rear parcel shelf. There's a nice gap between the metal chassis and the board parcel shelf with an access hole through from the boot. Put in the gap the GSM and GPS antennas will be nice and clear of any metal above them.
Is there a permanent 12v supply somewhere around the boot/rear seat area? I know the battery is in the boot but I don't really want to connect direct to that unless I have to. I've tried searching on here but with not much success at the moment. I'll have to learn the search syntax. Last edited by half Colin; 04-08-2014 at 05:30 AM.. |

I have a 12v cigarette lighter supply in the boot of my 2008 E92..do you have the same?
If not then take it from the battery, but like Digitalize says, add an inline fuse just to be safe. |

No, I haven't got one. But then knowing BMW it was probably part of some Comfort or Extended Storage Pack. The storage nets in the boot of my Z4 Coupe were part of the Comfort Pack. Anyway, thanks guys I have wired it direct to the battery now and it came with an inline fuse already. Just need a PAYG SIM card then I can set it up.
