No audio from USB armrest

Just bought my 11' 335is convert. Purchased the USB and Audio cable with 30 pin to lightning adaptor but the iPhone still isn't being recognized on my iDrive.

Am I missing something? Tried searching but nothing really shows up.

Garage List
2007 BMW E90 335i  [0.00]
2008 bmw x5  [0.00]
the added hardware has to be coded into the cpu of the car in order for the cpu to recognize that it now has a usb.

This something I can easily do myself or does it take special software/computer?

I'm sure there is a DYI somewhere, no?

Do a Vin check and see what your options are .

Do a Vin check and see what your options are exactly.
Do you have idrive/nav or a radio?

Do you also have a usb or mini usb in the glove box?

It there are two they both do different things.
I beleive the one in the glove is for downloading to the
hard drive.

This gets confusing because there are different versions of
idrive/nav

Best to read the manual or look for ytube videos before
looking in to coding for solutions.

If you are interested in coding options

google bmw vin check

google bmw vin check
there are several versions.
Put in the last 7 digits of your vin number .
It spits out what options are installed in your car.
Read your manual for operating those options.
The idrive/manual is usually separate from the main manual.

If it works with and older ipod on the old cable maybe you
don't have a problem with the car. Its and Apple issue.

Looks like you are not the only one having trouble with this
is may not be your car.

Try putting some music on a flash drive see if that works.
If you have the version or idrive that has a hard drive
you can download music from the glove compartment usb
to the hard drive.
