Steptronic confusion
So, after hours of searching I am confused yet again with my new car.
I have read some information from a BMW press release in 2006 regarding the "new" Steptronic auto gearbox with 100ms shift times and the whole "will shift down to the perfect gear based on driver input on gas pedal" etc. The example used was a 335i Steptronic and the manual time quoted 0-60mph in 5.3s and steptronic time of 5.5s. Can someone confirm if this is the same type of automatic that I would have in my 2007 E92 325i Auto (2.5L)? The manual times for this seems to be quoted at 6.9s and no info can be found on the auto times. Why is there no set figure from BMW for the E92 (2.5L) 325i Auto? I am so confused! ![]() |

Sorry, can't answer your question but Parkers has all the specs and shows the manual as 6.7 and the auto as 7.4

There was only one Autobox fitted to those years made by ZF.The exception was the gm6 fitted to 330i N52.I unfortunately had this on my old 330 I E92 and it wasn't great.Always slamming into gears and jerking.Eventually got shot of it for a manual. The ZF is a good gearbox however.
