I got winters and I'm still sliding...

I bought Dunlop Wintersport 3D's and I'm still sliding all over the place! Mind you, they're in the fricken' trunk. The used rims I got seem to have too high an offset, so I have to buy a spacer methinks.

In any event, the OEM Sport tires are useless in this weather. USELESS. They're summer rubber of course, so I shouldn't b!tch, but I will anyways.

Get yourself some decent winters peeps. I could not stop with the Potenzas at all.

You're lucky your car is still in one piece.

No kidding. Even trying to stop from 30km/h was quite the experience.

i wouldn't even bother driving on the stuff we have today or summer rubber. the rubber will freeze and no traction. Wait a few hours for the salters to be out, and ruin them with salt.

I hear ya. But I had no choice - tried to do the changeover too late. Reminds me of the story from grade school - the squirrel who didn't store any nuts until it was way too late.

I couldn't even get out of my parking spot this morning. Luckily I don't need to be anywhere. I'm putting the winters on tonight.

I was lucky to change over two weeks ago, the wait for some of these places is like 1 week. But the drive this morning was great with my all-season... except I drove the X5 today. lol...

Lucky me, I've just spent 3 hours waiting last night and the snow tires are on the car now. Just in time for this weather.

I don't have anywhere I need to be today.
I'll throw on the snows after the weekend,
as long as the roads are clear.

good luck and lets hope your car still remains in 1 piece!!

I would say you'll actually get more of the car with winter tires, stock rfts cant even go 20-30km/h

I feel bad for Soni; last night he asked me if he should put his winters on. I told him I thought it'd just be wet this morning. Sorry Soni, I hope you're alive!

Come on guys, I'm in Vancouver and even I have my winters on already! OK so it was just yesterday that I put them on, but I was already noticing how bad the summers were even at 6 degrees, let alone in snow.

I almost got stuck in my driveway...Newmarket got so much snow this morning. I had to press the DTC button to get going cuz i was trying to accelerate uphill. Surprisingly I had no problems turning as the DSC did its job to perfection. But standstill starts are a bit tough...I had to be really careful on the GO pedal. Overall I'm quite happy with its performance in the tough conditions today. I felt safer in this car than in my old A4.
