Need opinions on 2 tone interior trim

I put a thread up a while back of my interior trim that I had sprayed gloss black. As much as I love it it's a pain to keep clean which I can live with. The part that's bothering me is the gear shifter and idrive knob surround, after a few months gloss black it's scratched and marked due to people sitting phones, bags etc on it and the part behind the idrive knob it's badly scratched due to my watch !
The rest of the trim I'm happy with but it seems to be this part that takes the worst beating !
I'm thinking of wrapping this part only gloss carbon fibre and leave the rest black.

What do use think or any other ideas of what I could do with this part ? Plus any pics of this setup would be great.

Wrap the center console in leather.

+1 Exactly what I was thinking. I think black leather would flow with everything else.
