e90 325i exhaust
Hello there, just upgraded my exhaust with a Swedish aftermarket Simons exhaust up to resonator.
Exhaust sounds pretty damn good, and the car feels little faster then it used to, but I am still thinking about replacing resonator with a strate pipe, is it a good idea? |

In terms of sound yes. A resonator helps to attenuate low frequencies. By removing it you will achieve a more beefy exhaust note but could also get unwanted vibrations and frequencies and it minimally changes the exhaust back pressure. All in all, I do think it could sound cool though

I am fan of a fast cars, and 325i is kinda slow for my needs, but I need to drive it one more year before I can exchange it to m3 or at least 335i! |

The entire exhaust system is initially designed as just that,an entire system. Headers all the way to the tail pipes. Removing the resonator might sound cool but could hinder performance slightly. If you want a free mod that will boost your sound check out the "golf tee" mod. As far as replacing with a straight pipe section, I think it would be fine IF you also use a software tune. A custom tune may compensate the ECU to your specific setup.
