Bay Are Auto Body Referral
Can anyone recommend a good body shop in the (California) bay area--preferably one on the peninsula? I was rear ended by an unlicensed and uninsured driver in my new e90 (only 80 miles on the odometer) over the weekend. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that bro. I only hear good things about Cook's Collision in the East Bay, they do some good work and has experience with Euro's and exotics. Also good to go wid an authorized shop that works with ur insurance. The work is warrentied for the life of ur ride by the larger carriers ie. State Farm, CSAA, Geico if work is done thru their authorized repair shops. Check them out & good luck.

Might want to try calling Bryant Autobody in sf when you're calling around to compare.

i would strike a cautionary note about cook's collision in walnut creek. i took my honda prelude there after being rear-ended pretty hard; i spent time doing quite a bit of research. At the time, the shop in walnut creek was the only authorized auto body shop for the local jaguar/aston martin/porsche dealer. long story short, they charged 2x what any other shop did, and when i went to pick up my car, the new rear bumper that they installed was noticeably crooked (tolerances off by at least an inch). i pointed this out, whereupon they took my car back, adjusted the bumper, and brought it back, this time w/ multiple scratches in it. at this point, i accepted the car, lest anything else go wrong in the shop...

Jim at fine line in San Bruno is very good. 650 872 1236, small shop, he does everything himself, he painted my X5 bumper and it's perfect.
