Hi guys. I didnt know where to ask so as usual this seems the ideal place.

I have come across a guy selling some 335i turbos in need of a rebuild. The spin fine but need new seals.

Basically if I get the rebuilt, or remanufactured all the parts are replaced anyway.

What do you think the turbos are worth in a non useable state as I really dont know what to offer him.

There are some positions I'd say here you could re build to standard spec or maybe upgrade using different internal components which is a nice situation to be in.

As long as the actual units bar seals are serviceable then you've got a choice I'd say.

From what I can actually gather and I might be wrong here TurboDynamics is a damn fine place to trust your units with shed loads of knowledge/experience

I know someone who had N54 turbos upgraded by Turbo Dynamics and had so many problems that he went back to standard units, so personally I wouldn't trust them...

valid point hence the statement I made I've heard of things they do and from what I can gather it looked quite good but as you know things can happen

Ah well bare in mind that on exchange BMW do them for around from memory £1100ish plus you get 2years warranty. If you want to get them repaired and turn a profit then I'd say you're looking at a figure of roughly 60-65% of what they mare charging if you want to get a response.

As non usable again on exchange each unit on surcharge is valued at £99.00
