I can't believe it... So much DIY stuff here, so many people doing their own wrenching - and noone cares for correct torque settings? This is plain wrong. Wrong torque, and you are up for trouble - from parts falling off to cracked alloy rims to warped rotors to fasteners stripped or snapped. Anyone have any info on where to find proper information?
Strange thing - for my previous cars, MB and Volvo, this information was easily available and religiously followed by the DIY crowd. What gives here? ![]() |

All bolts should be torqued per German Torque Spec: Goodandtight
![]() I would think you could follow torque specs for standard unlubricated, stainless steel hardware and you would be fine..

I never really "torqued" my wheel nut to spec. Just tightened it as much as I could by hand. Ive never had it come off in my hand yet.

I thought BMW use 85~90 ft.lbs. for the wheel lugs.

Correct. He's talking about the steering wheel, not wheel/tire wheels..
