My Space Grey/Coral Red E92 build thread!

Hey everyone I'm Chris, I just bought an 07 Space Grey 328i on the 10th of this month! I found this 328i in VA, using www.cars.com. I LOVE the interior color, and the space grey has really grown on me.

This particular bmw has all the options I was looking for! Comfort access, premium package, sport package, cold weather package, power folding mirrors, and like stated before the color combo!

Here she is the first day I got back home with her! It was about a 12 hour round trip including the godforsaken traffic on I95

Here is an interior pic I took from the dealers website before I bought the car lol

Panoramic iPhone shot

First mods! Top Gear Solutions 60w Angel Eye KID kit, IND painted reflectors, and trunk de-badge

Before and after of the angel eye HID kit install

I dropped off the car to my painter this Monday (4/21) to have him paint the window trim gloss black because I really hate anything chrome

Luckily, I have the best paint guy and I picked up the car earlier today
Gloss black all the things!

Also installed my gloss black kidney grills and BMW performance shift knob today!

I have a few more parts on the way...so stay tuned

Oh, and I forgot to post these. Just picked these up from BMW, I'm going to retrofit OEM LED's for my license plate lights because 07's have halogen bulbs

I will be using this DIY thread for help

I would of kept the m3 but that's just me. However, like what youve done to the latest car.

This.

Why'd you get rid of the M3?

Well, I did my first ever autocross in the M3, and I met a friend there who had an S2000 and he let me do a run in his car. At that time, I was real big into autocrossing and going from a heavy car with 4 seats, to a 2 door sports car made me question what I really wanted out of a car. I know it sounds crazy to you guys to go from such a nice car (m3) to another S2000, but I just missed the go-kart feeling. So I did what I thought was the right thing and bought another S2000 and built it for autocrossing. If I could go back in time I definitely would have kept the M3 for sure.

For shits and giggles here is a video of me autocrossing in my S2000 when I had it.

haha not only was there crazy amounts of traffic and construction on i95, the roads were pretty bad in certain areas too

I had to answer this question when I sold the M3 for my 2nd S2000 a million times, and it seems I shall do the same here haha I posted my reasoning above your post. Thanks for the compliment on the cars

Well, you told us why you went from the M3 to the S2000. I get your reasoning there. But, then why the 328i? You're following a pattern of regression .

Welcome back to the bimmer family. Don't worry I'm not going to ask why you sold the M3. (I actually read the post above)

Wiseass. If you go back and reread, you'll see that I asked a perfectly valid question, which was not answered.

By the way Mr. Smarty Pants, you're supposed to place the parentheses before the period.

Nice! That M3 was gorgeous (and the S2k's), makes me feel better now about having a 328 myself. They can still be fun cars! Excited to see what else you do to it.

My comment was not directed towards you sir. I read all of the posts with people asking the OP the same question.

Have a good day!

OP any major plans for the car?

Well, I have never owned a car with F/I and I don't really ever plan on it. It's just something I'm not into. Unfortunately, financially I wasn't in the same situation when I bought this 328i as I was in a couple of years ago when I bought the M3. I am in love with the E92 body so I knew I had to look for a 328i!

Thanks for the S2000 comment man, that car is always in the back of my mind. I hope one day I can have an AP2 S2000 and my E92 at the same time

They were around $140 with shipping and well worth it imo!!

Just because the 328i has less HP than the others doesn't automatically mean it's not as fun as the others, you know? That's just my opinion though. I really enjoy this car a lot! I'm glad you feel better about owning the car you chose

Ah, the list is never-ending, but that's how it is with all of my cars. I do have some exterior plans as well as some nice interior upgrades

Thank you! I appreciate it

So I ordered a BNIB BMW Performance exhaust the week after I bought my car, and it showed up last week! I've been too busy to post the update though, it's been a crazy week for me

Here are the couple of lousy pictures I snapped! I hope to complete the install on my next days off, as well as retrofit the OEM BMW LED license plate lights I bought. I don't know why they made the 07's with halogen license plate lights :/
