Maxed out on RBs and pump gas - what next?
Hi folks,
so I feel my setup is currently maxed at +/- 500bhp with RBs and FBO on 93 octane pump gas. Ethanol fuels are not available in my country and I don't want to run meth. Reliability is top priority for me as I like to track my car. So no JB4+aggressive flash+turbomelter maps. Still, what are my options to gain a bit more power? A ported head à la VAC stage 3 head comes to mind, but there aren't many, if any, reviews or dynos about such an upgrade. What are your thoughts?

its been showed that a ported head is about a 30% increase in flow, but other then that all you can do is get rid of the rbs and/or run higher octane. also you make the car lighter as that always the best way to gain speed
he doesn't have a vac ported head btw as it was done custom by another shop. also idk if was his tune or rbs running out of steam but his graph dropped in power by ~4600rpm so I'm pretty sure OP wouldn't want that a in track car. i don't know anyone that has a vac ported head if you have money to spend you could try the ASR turbos i have for sale for little pump in power, but if your looking for a lot more power a fast spooling single with a twin scroll manifold will be your best bet

Well my car has already dropped around 100kg from stock (M3 cf roof, brakes, wheels, rear interior delete etc. ). Rollcage added a few kgs but I'm around 1520 kg (3350 lbs) with a half tank of fuel. Is there any info on an intake manifold? I was under the impression these projects never came to life?

ptf is has something in the works with a intake manifold that has PI, but i don't see how that would help you unless you swap out rbs. you can try upgrading the intake piping to your turbos as that might give you a little more power. not much else you could do with those turbos already reaching their max

If you want a bit more power, meth injection can be reliable if done properly with corrects lines/fittings/nozzles, if you are really against it, dump that COBB and upgrade to JB4 G5 ISO with back end flash, you don’t have to run the most aggressive flash or the most aggressive map, you can create your own boost map using map 6 + pump gas flash.
