o2 Sensors & DP install
To make a long story short I had my VRSF DPs installed by a local exhaust shop. After installation the car would run very rough for about 10-15 seconds and then smooth out. I told the shop this and they said the install was done correctly and that my o2 sensors must have went bad. I took my car to a local bmw enthusiast and he told me that my sensors were swapped and I should go back to the shop and tell them this. So I went back to the shop and once again they told me the same thing, they said there was no way they could could even try and swap the sensors because the wire to the sensors was to too short, so in turn they knew the sensors were placed correctly. Pissed off I left and said screw them. I plan on pulling the codes tonight but what I was wondering is how hard would swapping the sensors be in my garage on rhino ramps? I think I may try and tackle the issue myself just to be done with it. Thanks guys!…..sorry it wasn't as short as I hoped for lol.

They're thinking front and back and when they should be thinking side to side
![]() The short pipe uses the gray sensors, long pipe uses the black sensors. You can easily swap the two and most ignorant mechanics would tell you they're fine if they didn't know they were specific to each side. |

Thanks Tiago. I'll probably try and do them myself this weekend, I'm so sick of that damn place that I don't even want to deal with them anymore.

Hopefully they didn't stretch the o2 wires from the front of the DPs. There's a way to give it slack by removing the wire from the wire guides on the left side of the engine.
