328i - Square vs Staggered
My E90 328i sport is currently on the stock wheels (style 161's) which run 225/45-17 front and 255/40-17 rear. I run 205/55-16's in the winter (to cut through snow) and I feel like the square setup handles better than the factory staggered. I like that the car rotates more easily and doesn't under-steer as much.
It's getting to be time to buy new tires so I'm wondering what direction to go. I'll probably upgrade to 19x8 or 19x8.5 wheels while I'm at it. I was thinking about running 235/35/19s all around but I'm not sure that's enough meat in back. Can I run 245 or 255's up front without rubbing? Should I just stick with the 225 since honestly, less grip in a non-race car is more fun? What do you guys think? |

Having a square setup will definitely decrease understeer. A 19x8.5 all around would look nice and a 245 tire can be run if you choose the right tire brand
