Satellite Radio connector in console? Adapter needed.

My car has the satellite radio prep option 0693 and I located what i believe is the connector for the sharkfin antenna. I saw in a post somewhere that the connector could also be in the console so that is how I found it. I found it by removing the parking brake handle boot and it was tucked down in the center of the console. It is this pink Fakra connector I believe. I need an adapter cable to go from there to my Delphi Roady XM unit which I want to leave in the console.

Has anyone found an adapter cable for this connector located in the console. I need one that is about 2-3ft long. My searches have only produced discussion for adapters for the trunk connectors which my car does not have. I am not sure if they are the same.

hi there, yes that is a fakra connector for some type of aerial....

I think the phone aerial is also located where you are looking aswell. for if you ever use a snapin adapter to charge certain phones.

Can this phone connection be used as an antenna for satellite radio or is it only for the cell phone use. Would an adapter be available from this connector to satellite connection.

That is for the cell antenna in your shark fin. It will not work for satellite radio reception. If your car had the wiring for sirius the antenna connector will be in the trunk I believe. Remove the trunk floor and check up near the back of the rear seats.

Edit: just re-read your post. Since you can't find the connectors in the trunk your car does not have the wiring and antenna for sat radio. You will have to place an aftermarket antenna somewhere or retrofit the OEM antenna into your sharkfin.

The option list for the car says I have satellite radio prep option 0693. Isn't that the sat prep kit?

Well then you should be able to find the wires in the trunk area. Did you lift out and remove the trunk floor? The wires should be taped up on the passenger side near the front area.

Yes I have looked everywhere. There is only the harness going to the Telematics module. This module has four inputs which look like antenna inputs. Are all four of these used or can the XM antenna be grabbed there?
